Samuel Simpkins Samuel Simpkins 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR/DB Ewing | 2026 State NJ out of Ewing is one of those multi-sport athletes whose all-around talent jumps off the film. Listed at 5’10”, he plays wide receiver, safety, and cornerback—but his flashes at wide receiver are especially impressive. He might not have the thickest frame, but he plays strong. At the catch point, his focus stands out. He tracks the ball well, makes plays downfield, and isn’t afraid to finish through contact.

While he’s not the most natural hands-catcher just yet, he hauls in tough grabs and can create after the catch. His physicality and body control make him a reliable target. On defense, he shows good instincts at safety. He diagnoses plays quickly, has no hesitation coming downhill, and delivers hits that separate the ball from the receiver.

Simpkins is a two-way contributor and a natural athlete—he also plays multiple positions on the baseball diamond. With added bulk and another year of development, he has a chance to push himself into the D2 or D3 conversation. For now, he’s a rising 2026 prospect who should be on more radars heading into the fall.
