Ranked as my #4 offensive lineman in the class, Samuel holds Division 1 offers from Miami (OH), Toledo, and UMass. Of course, it’s hard to earn D1 offers so early without at least decent size, but Samuel is a big 6’6″ 275- IDEAL size.
Samuel’s tape shows that he’s still got a lot of room to grow, but he has the physicality to one day grow into something greater than a MAC prospect. 0:20 is a great example of this. I don’t like Samuel’s footwork, but I love his physicality and bend. It looks at first like the DE may get the edge, but Samuel resets and knocks the defender off-balance. A ton of plays where Samuel completely eliminates the DE from the passing down. Clean up the footwork, and we’re golden.

McGrath is an interesting prospect. He’s recently received offers from Toledo, Miami (OH), and UMass. His upside is incredibly apparent- I mean come on, few people in the world are 6’6″ 275. However, his skill is extremely raw as of this past season. Mostly, I’m looking for better physicality and play speed. Samuel has some pancakes on tape, but doesn’t seem to move as fast as he can or give that over-the-top effort like those ranked above him do. I’m looking for better footwork, better balance, and much better tenacity moving forward. No doubt that he can be a great D1 college football player with that size, he’s just got to keep developing.

After seeing he was picking up some D1 recruiting steam, I had to see what Samuel was all about, and came away thoroughly impressed. He’s an aggressive tackle who moves well and seems to be extremely well rounded in his game.
In the passing game, he has a smooth kick step and a great ability to wash down any defender that gets too far inside, or take a rusher completely outside of the play if they get too far up field. In the run game, he gets out and moves, gets to the 2nd level, and can complete any block you put in front of him, and he does a great job adjusting when defenders try to break free. McGrath will remain near the top of this class of offensive linemen if he stays on this course of development!
