About Samuel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Always ready to be called no matter the situation. If coach needs me to play Safety or Receiver, I'll be ready. I am on my feet on a kickoff and I run in to help get a tackle. I always make sure my team is good and ready for the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m usually quiet and don’t scream a lot, I let the upper class do that. If I miss a kick, I always take the blame even if it wasn't a great snap or hold so they don't feel responsible. The next day, I train and go back to the basics and work on how to improve on what was wrong. I never let people get in my head only think about the ball and never let people underestimate me for my size

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a drummer and a skateboarder. I enjoy carpentry because it helps me think a lot. I am also on the yearbook staff and work the camera.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

After a bad loss, I make sure everyone keeps there heads. I help younger kids who want to play football. I teach them how to kick and always make sure I have time to help. Even though I’m a kicker, I help out with wide receivers and DB drills to make sure our skill players get work in at practice.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Proving myself. I have been passed over as a kicker because of my size, even though I kick further. I was upset, but I used it to develop myself. I keep training and was the only JV kicker recognized on a mid-season special report. This proved to me that I can always find a good way out of something.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking at colleges in the South or North. I was born in Athens, Georgia, so I’m a big southern kid and love the SEC but it’s not about how good the schools are just for football; it’s about having an education. If football does not work out, I plan be a ER doctor. I would love to go to any good school where I can be happy and do what I love.
