With my only reference to the 2024 version of Sam Dech Sam Dech 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Phillipsburg | 2026 State NJ being explosive from the bit of film I saw against Westfield, his film from his sophomore campaign showed that Dech has explosive, big play potential. A shifty runner with balance, Dech is a bit shorter and therefore has very good pad level. His go-to move is his juke move, which he relies on to bust through defenses into the open field. Hitting the hole at full speed is a signature of his running style, which he achieves in about 3 steps. A disciplined runner who is well coached, Dech will run his track and run inside-out when looking to make big plays. Despite his size, we see that Dech will fight for extra yardage and keep the pile moving. Lastly, Dech’s play seems to fire up his team, as evidenced by the Phillipsburg sideline’s reaction when he gets the rock.

As their top rusher from a year ago is moving onto the next stage, Sam Dech Sam Dech 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Phillipsburg | 2026 State NJ is ready to step up in his place. Sam is a quick, explosive back that can flash by a defender without ever giving them a chance to react. Elusive through the hole, Sam can make one quick cut and carve through the defense with exceptional vision. While Sam may have played undersized in 2023, there’s no reason to believe that will hold him back. There are countless examples from a year ago of Sam breaking through arm tackles and never losing a step. He does a great job getting skinny when he runs up the middle and secures the ball in high contact situations.
As Sam puts on more size over these next few seasons, I think he will slowly make his way into the Prep Redzone Rankings and climb steadily once he enters his senior season. Rushing for 628 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2023, Sam is ready to take the lead back position and carry a heavy load for his offense in 2024.

One of the leading rushers for Phillipsburg is Sam Dech Sam Dech 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Phillipsburg | 2026 State NJ . Dech, who is a shifty tailback with good pad level, relies on his go-to juke move to make defenders miss. Last year he rushed 87 times for 638 yards and 6 scores. What makes Dech appear explosive is that he hits the hole at full speed, in approximately three steps. Like a disciplined back, he does not deviate from running his track and rushes inside-out. Despite a diminutive stature, Dech fights for extra yardage and keeps the pile moving. What I appreciate most about Dech is that it seems his play absolutely fires up his team, as evidenced by their reaction to his plays on the sideline. Should Dech aspire to play college ball, he may profile as a scat-back. That said, his tape ought to include clips of him in pass protection and as a pass catcher out of the backfield
