About Ryan
Expert Analysis

Ryan has proven to be a force on the edge of the Plymouth defense over the past couple seasons. The 6’2″ 220 lbs OLB looks the part of an OLB at the next level. He also has the attributes of a next level talent. Ryan is a strong, physical, stout edge defender. He willing takes on blocks, stands up pulling linemen, sheds blocks and makes tackles against the run. Koll is hard to get off his spot when trying to run his way. The senior also has made strides with his athleticism and agility. The senior tape shows an athlete who can move laterally to mirror, cut off, and close on ball carriers. Ryan is also a reliable, wrap up tackler. You can definitely count on Ryan to be an impact player against the run game early on. Check out the strong LB’s tape.

One of the more impressive LBs on the hoof was the 6’2″ 225 lbs athlete out of Plymouth. Ryan fits best as an edge defender. At the next level that will most likely be out of a two point stance. Ryan is a powerful athlete. He is able to take on OTs/TEs, hold his ground, shed and make the tackle at the line. He can also stuff pulling linemen. Watching him on tape, Koll plays with noteworthy awareness and intelligence. He diagnoses plays and has the range to get out in space to make stops when he needs to. As a pass rusher, Ryan wins with power to bull rush or power right through OL on the way to the QB. Give the DE/OLB a look.

Ryan is an interesting chess piece on defense. He won DL of the Year for his conference last fall. At the next level he fits best at OLB or ILB. His film gives us a look at his potential on the edge. Ryan has the size at 6’2″ 220 lbs. On tape he has proven to have the strength to set the edge. He takes on blocks, gets separation, and can disengage and make the stop. Ryan also plays with good control and awareness. You won’t see him flying into the backfield blindly. He gets penetration, finds the ball, and closes quickly. I want to see him further develop pass rush moves to make him even more dangerous and well rounded. With that added to his game he will be even more enticing for the next level.

The 6’1″ 213 lbs junior LB is one of my favorite LBs in the Class of 2024. He plays OLB on the edge of the Plymouth defense and he has been a playmaker there. Ryan is a fun pass rusher to watch. He can be elusive by dodging blockers with lateral agility or run right through blocks. Koll is a high motor player who makes as many plays with his pursuit as he does with his initial assignment and plan of attack.
During the Showcase Ryan looked his best in the one on one ground battles. The long athlete was able to stay square, attack downhill, and that aggressiveness allowed him to quickly end reps. It was a solid day for an athlete who has been at his best rushing the QB and setting a strong edge. Watching him rise to the occasion and compete in scenarios he doesn’t face a ton was good to see. It showed his true athletic abilities and ability to quickly adapt.

Stats: 5 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 SackrnThe 6’2″ 215 lbs LB is an impressive junior to watch. He is a strong athlete who has shown he can hold his ground on the edge against pulling linemen. You can see him sink his hips to get underneath linemen and stand them up on the edge. Just as quickly, Ryan can disengage and make the tackle. Koll does a great job of keeping his outside hand free, and has used that to make tackles at the OLB position. Ryan is turning himself into an impressive prospect in a very talented Class of 2024 graduating class.
