who’s our OL4 in the South Dakota 2027 class. South Dakota Mines, Augustana, and Black Hills State are all South Dakota schools that offered Rush last week, Getting to watch Rush on the board drill surely rose his stock amongst the college coaches in attendance, as he showed off nasty physical hands and took the defensive linemen for a ride with his drive blocking ability that surely showed off some relentless finish. We’ve known since Rush was at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase the wingspan Rush has but his utilization of it in Session 1 of the Jackrabbits first prospect camp of the year surely shows that Rush will be a climber when we update our 2027 South Dakota rankings.

picked up his first offer this week from Lindenwood. For 6’6 265 pounds, Rush moves well laterally with his footwork and can pin down his blocker with the pure violent strength you want to see at the point of attack. He’s also one that can get into the second level on combo-blocks and shows off a sound motor in the trenches for his size. Rush is also an excellent finisher which surely is why he’s the first D1 offer that’s come thru out of Rapid City thus far this cycle and is a recent Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase alum.

Rush possesses the bouldering strength at the tackle position that college coaches I feel are going to get a strong glimpse of this summer at prospect camps throughout the Dakotas. Rush is one that can combo-block into the second level and his quickness lies with his hand placement and the agility of getting his hands for the next combo up quickly. He’s gotten more fluid with his footwork out in space as I feel he’s still scratching the surface with that upside with his foot speed. He has tons of D1 interest right now which should turn into an offer shortly.

Rush is a offensive linemen I have a high grade on in this 2027 SD class as one that has continued to thrive in his junior season. You can see the growht Rush has made from his sophomore season to his junior season especially in the footwork department as there is great balance that you see right away especially in pass protection. Another area where the 6’6 270 pounder has grown is with his hand placement. as the pad-level has also excelled as the Cavaliers are rolling at 7-0 and the #2 ranked team in 11B. Look for Rush to be a probable mover in this 2027 class.

The SDSU prospect gave me the first live eval during camp season of one of our top tier offensive linemen in South Dakota in the 2027 class, and the eval we got was a good one. Rush has always done a good job controlling the point of attack with his hands, but this camp showed off improvement to me with his pad-level as the 6’6 250 pounder has consistently adjusted his his hand placement which paid off dividends in some of the reps I watched from Rush. He surely is a 2027 college programs will want to keep tabs on this summer and into fall. Twitter

Rush was an offensive linemen that was in our top tier amongst the hog mollies at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase this winter, and that live eval showed why he is a significant stockriser in this class moving into our top 10. The 6’6 265 pounder from Rapid City St. Thomas More, shows off a solid base with his bend and that shows to be consistent when he gets down on his blocks, as Rush has plenty of driving strength with his upside that shows off the talent that is there not just now, but upcoming. I was impressed with the growth from the 2024 season to our winter showcase with his pad-level, as I felt he was even more balanced with his frame than I expected. He is one that surely will draw more attention at college camps this upcoming summer and the D1s are starting to taking notice from all over the place.
