2028 defensive end Rocky Bright III Rocky Bright III 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH/LB Union | 2028 State OK is the first of two ‘28 defensive linemen that the state needs to know about coming into this season. Last year, Bright showed flashes of being a dominant defensive end and overall terror coming off the edge for the Union defense. When we got a chance to watch Union back in the spring, Bright was arguably their best player on the defensive side of the ball. The ceiling for him is incredibly high and he has a very unique blend of size, athletic ability and overall moves that makes him a nightmare for opposing offensive linemen. In the spring, he was matched up with elite OL and he held his own on every rep.

Then we got a chance to watch him go to work in person back in the spring at Union’s team camp and we were blown away by his abilities coming off the edge. Bright is a terrific edge defender that can beat the man in front of him in a variety of ways. Sudden burst and overall speed was definitely something that stood out but don’t overlook the power that Bright has as he can beat opponents with power moves in addition to speed. All signs point to Bright having a monster junior season in 2028.

Union defensive end Rocky Bright III Rocky Bright III 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH/LB Union | 2028 State OK is a 2028 prospect that we cannot wait to see in person when the spring rolls around and these guys put on the helmets and pads again. Bright’s sophomore film is impressive to watch and he ended up being one of the more productive 2028 DL in 6A-1 last season. There is a lot to like about him and his potential moving forward. That’s a big reason why he moved up 11 spots and into the Top 20. He already showcases a ton of athleticism and there could be some versatility to his game to keep an eye on moving forward. Whether he’s an edge or an outside linebacker, one thing is for sure, he can be a bonafide game-wrecker for a defense. Bright recently picked up his first D1 offer and that could be the tip of the iceberg for Bright and his game moving forward.
