About Roberto

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I bring aggression and precision to the left tackle position to take control of the line of scrimmage and establish the tone that we will be the more physical team in both running and passing situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I possess leadership skills that differentiate me as a collegiate player based on a focus of hard work, accountability, and team building. I strive to motivate my teammates through positivity and humor. This enables me to have credibility when difficult feedback is necessary to cement a learning process and foster great performance. The good of the team is always the most important to me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I attend one of the most distinguished college preparatory academies in the nation. At Albuquerque Academy, I have excelled in a challenging and diverse academic curriculum that has built a foundation for hard work and achievement. I have a high GPA, speak, read, and write Mandarin Chinese, studied Spanish for two years, play the piano and violin as well as participate in several clubs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I strive to be as well rounded as possible and focus on leadership, teamwork, and giving back to the community. Through the support of Los Ojos del los Ninos and the National Federation for the blind, I have been recognized every year at my school for community service.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had the great fortune of support from so many people in my life. I haven’t faced major hardship in a larger sense but have had to overcome hardship just like everyone else. I make every effort to embrace the lessons that are being taught in those situations and strive to overcome and improve myself in every possible way.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a traditional college in a true college town with a strong campus community and a real sense of belonging. Academically, I want a business-focused environment and also explore areas like entrepreneurship and analytics. Outside the classroom, I’m looking for a place with active student organizations, traditions, and opportunities to be involved.
