About Zander

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Drop back passer with good movement in the pocket and can roll out if time is needed for route development. I like to to read the defense and audible to take advantage of defensive mistakes or to take what they are giving us.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I like to treat every play like it is a chess match where I can move the pieces around in time and go through my progressions to make high percentage throws. Reading the defense to make a good plan is the fun part. Executing the plan with my receivers, line and running backs in practice can make success in the game look easy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I have played in a couple of national chess tournaments and enjoyed competing in science fairs. I plan to be an engineer.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

We do community service work through the school, but I seem to spend more time building relationships and skills with my receivers

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

To be honest, I have been fortunate most of my life. Though I did have to be patient during a couple of football seasons when the head coach or offensive coordinator wanted their sons to be quarterback when they clearly did not have the skills.

What type of college are you looking for?

I aspire to play division one football at a competitive program, though as I move from high school to college in a few years, I will appreciate any chance I get to play college ball, learn, get better and show the world what I can do on and off the football field.
