About Riley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an explosive player but I balance it with my smooth and elusive approach. I try to make my self as comfortable as possible when I’m on the field which helps come from my hours of repetition. I also take strong pride in my speed and stamina (as track and feild is another great passion of mine) and use it to my advantage through the game. Any route that is drawn up I have polished down.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

The game is almost like an art to me and whether it’s the release, the top of the route, or the catch, each piece of the puzzle I put my full effort into. I work countless hours on all aspects of my game constantly trying to get better but my route tree and catch repetition is where I really shine. I am very very active in the weight room and track, getting better each day, addicted to the work.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Besides my 2 sports which I dedicate my main attention to, I do work just as hard in the class room but also have a strong interest in the real-estate world. I’m constantly involving myself in that realm and learning more and more about it.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I believe that before you can lead anyone else you have be able to lead yourself just as well. As I mentioned before I’m always making sure I’m as comfortable as possible on the felid and giving off the best possible energy to my teammates around me. I also think it’s key to have confidence but there’s a fine line between confidence and cockiness. I have to believe I’m going to win every rep.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Throughout my life and athletic career I’ve never felt valued. I would always feel like if I didn’t make the effort to show up, no one would even notice. I’ve been cut from various teams and have never truly felt like my hard work and dedication has ever been truly appreciated. Just recently I have learned to keep my mouth shut and lay it all on the field whenever the opportunity is given.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a program that is going to see me for my value and impact, that is wiling to utilize that. I want a program that is really determined into developing and maturing me, always looking to reach a higher level not just for me as a player, but for the program as a whole.
