2027 running back and defensive hybrid standout Rhett Gibson Rhett Gibson 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Holland Hall | 2027 State OK is coming into this season with a major chip on his shoulder. He was primed for a big junior season but it was impacted by an injury that sidelined him for the majority of the 2025 season. But now, Gibson is back and will be joining Jones in the backfield as a dangerous weapon in the run game. He’ll also play plenty of defense and he can line up wherever the Dutch need him. Whether that’s on the line of scrimmage or further back as a linebacker, Gibson has shown the ability to be very versatile when he’s on the field.

While Holland Hall has a really solid senior class returning, don’t overlook some of the talent they have in the other classes. Junior Rhett Gibson Rhett Gibson 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Holland Hall | 2027 State OK is a good example of a player that feels ready to take the next step this season. Last year, Gibson would become one of Holland Hall’s top producers in the running game. He finished the year with nearly 150 carries, running for 650 yards and six touchdowns. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Gibson take his production to new heights this season. And don’t overlook his ability to play defense if necessary for the Dutch this fall.

Holland Hall’s Rhett Gibson Rhett Gibson 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Holland Hall | 2027 State OK is our final prospect on this breakdown and he feels like another example of a “swiss army knife” as a prospect. Gibson can play running back, linebacker, defensive back and he can make plays from a few other spots on the football field. Gibson is also a standout on the track so you know that the speed is there. We’ve seen Gibson in person a few times on the 7v7 circuit but we haven’t seen him in person when the pads come on. But based on what we’ve seen on film, we see a player that simply helps his team have more success. What does he translate to at the next level? That feels like it’s still up for debate but we’re starting to lean to the defensive side of the ball with his overall size, instincts and legit track time. We’re looking forward to seeing what Gibson does the rest of this offseason and into the spring and summer moving forward.
