out of Columbus. The big man has plenty of experience in the run game, and it shows on his final senior season highlights. Rey shows that he has the lower body to be able to drive his man off the ball and reset the line of scrimmage downfield. it is impressive watching the 6’5″ OT get underneath his opponent and show that he can dominate with leverage and power. Rey also flashes a solid anchor in pass coverage. Get to the big man’s tape while you can.

. Rey looks the part of a college recruit at 6’5″ 300 lbs with long arms and big hands. Those big hands are a key part to his success. All night long the senior OT was able to clamp onto his man and stick on him, and control where he drove them. Rey has the power from his hands down to his base and when it is all working together he is able to reset the line of scrimmage downfield with his ability to move his DL. Rey also showed that power in his anchor in passing situations. The big fella proved to be very hard to get around or disengage from. Great to see that he holds 5+ offers, so far. Check the kid out if you haven’t.

I was able to get eyes on Rey at a couple camps this week, but the most value came from the Big Man Camp in Eau Claire. Getting to see these kids in pads, doing what they have trained for years to do is invaluable. Rey didn’t waste his opportunity either. The OT checked in with great size at 6’4″ 304 lbs with almost a 6’7″ wingspan. Rey came into the camp with a ton of run game experience at the varsity level. Because of that we have seen him develop the ability to drop his pad level so he can get leverage on DL. We see his short area mobility and lateral agility to stick on blocks. Plus we see that desire to dominate his opponent. During the camp the run game drills looked natural for him. The big man just earned his first offer from Oshkosh. Plenty more should follow.

The 6’5″ 270 lbs junior OT has been a very effective run blocker thus far in his career. The massive OT is able to create a big push in the trenches with his size and power. He can crash his opponent down the line or drive them straight off the ball and always tries to finish his block to the ground. Rey does a good job of consistently getting his hands on his opponent so he can control them from the first initial punch. If Rey is able to develop more flexility in his knees, and ankles it will make I’m even more effective because the leverage advantage will be more on his side. The frame, power, and experience are there though. Check out the tape.
