Woodbury | 2028 MN is one of the best breakout recruits to come out of the 2026 season. The reported 6’3, 215 lb. Woodbury High School OLB and EDGE is quickly rising up the recruiting boards of Missouri Valley schools around the region, as the film, size, and 6A production punch scouts and evaluators straight in the face at first glance. Wedan has visited North Dakota on Oct. 18 and received a gameday invite from South Dakota as well, but I’d expect the recruiting attention to pick up even further as the 2028 recruiting cycle continues to develop.
Wedan opens his regular-season highlights by manhandling the rock out of a Stillwater Ponies‘ RB’s hands inside the 10-yard line, taking off, and returning the ball 85-90 yards for a strip, recovery, and score, all in one play. Unique display of next-level strength and defensive playmaking ability. He then shows loose hips that he’s quick to unlock, which aids him in his pass drops. Particularly great job against Stillwater, dropping underneath a deeper slant. Also picked off the rock one-handed, plucking it out of the air like it was a child’s NERF ball. Wedan displays an explosive get-off and can run the hoop and show off some bend as a pass rusher off the edge. Impressive closing speed and a thumper at the contact point as well.
The junior is an impressive and effective blitzer who can bend off the edge, start/stop fluidly and explosively, and really put a hurtin’ on QBs when he gets to the contact point, as well as a strong OLB who can shock, shed, and disengage from big blocks around the box and LOS. Wedan has a really impressive rep against Forest Lake, where he finds a speedy and long pass-catcher’s hip pocket, man turns and gets into good position before getting his head around, running stride-for-stride for the route runner, and making a controlled and sticky PBU at the catch point. This dude has some special playmaking ability and if the size holds up and the measurables stand up in testing like how they look on him, you got a D1 prospect right here.
