About Reed

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play aggressive, tactical football. I focus on small details to improve my game. I want to go out on the field and do whats right to help my team. I have very quick hands and feel I demonstrate great hand fighting abilities and come off the ball fast. I play OL and DL and have experience playing at both Center and as a Long Snapper.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I think people love to be around me. I am honest and I keep my circle close. I honor school and team traditions, enjoying time with family and teammates. I remain loyal to coaches and teammates at both SBL and my old school of Siouxland Christian.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was a member of Civil Air Patrol (Air Force Auxillary) when my family lived in Manhattan, KS. I was named the 2022 Cadet of the Year when I was a member of that organization. I received weightlifting awards in middle school for top attendance during the summer of 2022.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I try to be influential, pushing others to do what is right. Keeping myself and friends out of trouble in both school and the community while focusing on bettering myself in the classroom. My old head coach at Siouxland Christian is Ryan Gillaspie and he can be contacted at rgillaspie@siouxlandchristian.org and can verify my behavior at my previous school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I grew up in a military family and moved to Iowa from Manhattan, KS after my 8th grade year. I went to Siouxland Christian in Sioux City, IA for two years, playing football, baseball and running track. I started at both OL and DL my sophomore year. Unfortunately, Siouxland Christian cancelled football after week 1 of my 11th grade year. I trasferred to Sergeant Bluff

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that has strong traditions. Somewhere my family can see my games and I can stay in touch with them. I want a family and team environment that wins. Academically I want to attend a school that will support me and I want to earn a degree that is respected by employers.

When you pop on Hofstra’s sophomore highlight video, you would not think he’s a 10th-grader without knowing. He’s big and physical, pushing around older opponents. It led to 29.5 tackles (22 solo), a sack and a fumble recovery. He’s quick off of the snap and sheds blocks regularly. Ironically, he also excels at snapping the ball to the quarterback or on special teams. As a center, he shows he can complete the assignment whether his team is rushing the ball or throwing it.
