6’3, 275-pound 2029 OL/DL prospect out of Barnstable High School. Carries a 275-pound frame.
Current Ranking and Potential Bump: A New England prospect buried on our PRZ NE 2029 watch list. Understandably so, I’m not sure if Grushey has tape on Hudl readily available to justify a ranking. I’d say his Boston College Mega Camp performance put him in the running to debut on our 2029 board at the very least. One of the best things about seeing him work at the event, I can almost certainly verify his measurables, this holds weight for a prospect his age, no pun intended. Currently labeled an “EDGE/ATH”, yet high chance he debuts on our ranks as an OL, based on watching him work against much leaner/lighter DEs during 1v1s and managing them well. Surprised by his punch and upper-body strength. I did a bit of digging into Grushey before traveling, just to get a sense for 2029s that demanded my attention. I was able to match a face to a face and come away pleased with his overall physique and performance. He will be ranked next 2029 update.

Grushey’s frame is college-ready, with good length and room to add functional mass without losing mobility. He demonstrated solid posture in controlled drill settings, maintaining a low pad level and showing decent hip flexibility. Grushey looked more comfortable and explosive here than in the combine, winning a couple of reps through sheer effort and body control. This indicates untapped athleticism that shines in structured environments. Even in a lackluster overall showing, Grushey competed hard. He didn’t dominate, but he didn’t back down, flashing the motor that coaches love in developmental prospects.
Hands were notably slow to strike, reducing his effectiveness in shedding blocks. He won only a handful of reps, and even those weren’t dominant—more opportunistic than overwhelming. This points to a need for quicker, more violent hand usage to match his size. Grushey’s combine numbers were underwhelming across the board—lacking the burst, agility, and speed metrics that separate elite prospects. While his posture is a plus, balance remains an issue; he often gets knocked off his base when engaged, leading to stalled rushes. In live reps, he wasn’t physical enough at the point of attack, allowing blockers to dictate terms. This was evident in his tendency to expose his chest too much, making him an easy target for offensive linemen to latch on and control. One of the youngest at the event; he has lots of upside, but wasn’t ready for a top 5 finish.

on the football field. He lists himself at 6-foot-3 and looks to be roughly in the 180-190 pounds, though, neither of those sizes are verified. Regardless of what his actual size is, he’s significantly bigger than the majority of his opponents. As a Defensive End/Edge, he has the perfect frame for the position with his length and body composition. Offensively, I’ve seen some film of him catching passes as a Tight End and firing off as an Offensive Guard. It should go without saying, but how he fills out will dictate the positions he will eventually play as his career progresses. From watching him move in space, he strikes me as more of an OL/DL at this point–but there’s plenty of time to figure that out.
- Areas for improvement: Strength, pad level
Grushey has a lot of the natural size and ability needed to have success in this game, but he needs to make the weight room a priority moving forward. For as big as he is, there were times I was hoping to see more in terms of winning the battle at the POC. He was able to win a lot of 1:1 battles on the youth level because of his size, but he won’t get away with some of the manhandling as he progresses forward. Firing out of his stance and staying low, combined with improved strength, will take him to a new level.
