About Preston
Expert Analysis
Alin Edouard | Prep Redzone Scout
Preston is a defensive back who is showing clear commitment to improving his game this offseason, putting in consistent training work with Jalil Johnson. That extra development time is starting to show in how he moves and competes in space.
At DB, Preston is becoming more confident in his coverage ability. He’s showing better patience in his backpedal, improved recognition of routes developing in front of him, and quicker reactions when breaking on the football. There’s a noticeable increase in his discipline when staying square and not biting early on releases.
In one-on-one and drill work, he’s competing more consistently and showing a stronger understanding of positioning. While still developing technically, his effort level and willingness to learn stand out.
With continued offseason work and reps against quality receivers, Preston is trending upward as a 2030 defensive back to monitor.
