The freshman totaled 23.0 tackles with 4.0 stops for loss, 4.0 sacks and a fumble recovery. He added 87 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards. Shield was just scratching the surface of what he could become. Expect an impactful leap forward in 2026 with varsity experience under his belt and an offseason of development. His a projectable frame should continue adding strength and power to go with plenty of athleticism and speed. It’s tough to lock Shield into a position this early in his prep career. His athleticism and versatility leave the door open to intriguing possibilities. Shield established his presence through the Comet’s first four games of his freshman campaign, six solo tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. He also contributed on offense, carrying the ball and catching it. He chipped in a 15-yard kick return on his only attempt. Shield is working hard on his development during the prep season and along the 7-on-7 circuit. With present production and the will to improve, Shield should be on the radar of colleges.
