Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
“PeeWee” Wilson had 151 tackles, eight for a loss, two sacks, 10 hurries, a blocked field goal, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions for a Pacifica team that won a CIF championship last season. He put up those crazy numbers after sitting out five games due to transferring from St. Bonaventure.
He’s a versatile player who can play inside or off the edge and is dangerous as a spy on the quarterback because of his quickness breaking to the ball. In pass coverage, he drops to his zone quickly and he often blows up screens before a lineman can get down the field to him. Wilson is a ball-hawk who is always near the ball carrier and once he gets his he gets his hands on a ball carrier, they aren’t getting away.
San Jose State offered Wilson recently and he set up an official visit to Cal Poly.

Read EvaluationPaul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Wilson is a very active tackler and one of the top defenders in Southern California. He is extremely athletic for the linebacker position and has tremendous open field speed when closing, tackling abilities in space and has a natural feel for the ball. Pre-snap, he shows quick play recognition and processing and shows he can apply pressure up the middle or off the edge with natural pass rush abilities and bend. Wilson shows he can get off blocks against bigger blockers with a violent hand strike and is a good mix of both a plug-and-play linebacker with elite athleticism in coverage and making plays outside the tackles. He holds offers from Houston Christian, SMU, and Campbell.
