Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Maiers put together a complete game last Friday and really helped the Braves’ defense slow down the ICA offense. He’s got good vision and a head on his shoulders. He was able to play in the big open spaces in the second level and come up to make the play. He’s able to wrap up without an issue as well. He ended the night with a game leading 11 tackles. He then added 1 PBU, a forced fumble, and then blocked a punt on special teams. I love seeing players take special teams seriously because it’s literally 1/3 of the game, and I often feel it gets undervalued.

Maiers is one of the Braves’ brighter underclassmen prospects. He’s a solid linebacker prospect v. run. While he could develop some more hard-hitting ability, he closes on the ball and wraps up well. He takes good angles to ballcarriers and possesses good instincts. He has undeniable effort: he chases down ball carriers if they break the second level.
