A linebacker that I felt was in my “stockriser” category from the live eval on Saturday at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, was

of Castlewood. The 5’11 202 pounder, was one of the most explosive linebackers in the broad jump finishing in the top 10 at our showcase with an 8’11. Where I was most impressed with Owen in the live eval, was with his pass coverage reps as he showed he could bump and run with the bulk of the RBs in attendance and caused disruption in the middle of their route which all in all, was great to see as you don’t see a ton of what he could do in PC on tape. I surely feel with the size profile that Owen surely moved into our top 10 in the 2027 class of linebackers from his live eval and is one of a couple LBs from Castlewood that can play scholarship football on Saturdays in my eyes.

One of two 2027 athletes that we added in our top 100 in South Dakota from the Castlewood Warriors, is

. What stands out when you get to watch Owen on tape is his motor, as when he comes down to the point of attack, you can tell the chip and physicality he plays off his release and physicality with his tackling ability. He’s a persistent run-stopper that has quick short and mid-area vision to collapse on the ball carrier very quickly. He’s one that also has a sudden twitch of athleticism with his get off and surely is one like most on this list that I will give a Saturday grade to.

. The 5’11 200 pounder, is one that pops to the ball with great vision and patience waiting for the ideal pursuit angle to get to the ball carrier. Owen is one that plays with the noticable motor you want at the linebacker position. The development for Owen is to get more downhill consistently as a run-stopper as I felt the deeper I got into his tape, the more I saw him more on time with meeting the ball carrier in the backfield.
