Fonua is a two-way player who will take on a bigger role and potentially on both sides of the ball as well. Alta loses a lot of rushing production, and Fonua was effective on his limited touches. He flashed good patience behind the line, the ability to get small through the line, and moves well laterally to make defenders miss, and has speed to get to the edge. As a defensive back, he uses his hip fluidity to stick to shifty receivers and has the speed to stick. He has good anticipation and makes plays on the ball coming his way. He’s primed to break out this season.
