Barrus is another high upside edge prospect that remains unsigned and has the frame to continue adding weight and play multiple positions along the defensive front. He is strong at the point of attack and does a good job using his length to his advantage and control the chest of blockers and winning at the point of attack. He sets his hands quickly and collapses the pocket using his closing speed and long strides to cover ground. He is still a raw and developing prospect but has the ideal length and frame for the position at the next level and really is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Barrus checks into our rankings as the number 9 defensive lineman in his class and just inside the top 40 overall, and has tons of growth potential and upside at the next level. He has a massive frame that can pack on weight through college, and he plays with great length, range when collapsing the pocket and is a truly raw and explosive pass rusher. Barrus is a high motor kid that can pursue backside, shows violent hands at the POA against drive blocks and has good redirect abilities while a strong tackler in space. Barrus also shows some natural bend to turn the corner when collapsing the pocket and should be in line for a huge Senior season.

Barrus is a really good defensive lineman that plays for powerhouse Sugar-Salem. His ability to create knockback at the line of scrimmage is as impressive on film as we have seen. He shows a high motor with his ability to give relentless pursuit of the football. Shows really good hand placement that allows him to create separation at the point of attack. He will be a name to watch this season for sure.
