I was excited to see Mensah up close, but the Berry offense had trouble getting the ball to him in the passing game – he might have had one catch in the game at the most. The more disappointing thing was that Mensah was open on a number of downfield passing concepts, but he just couldn’t get accurate passes his way. That’s not his fault, but the Cardinals may get more creative getting the ball in his hands in future games, because he can be a real playmaker when he gets it.

One of our biggest leaps in the rankings, regardless of position, we moved Mensah in our internal system months ago, right after the May rankings update and we really would have preferred to get him into this range back then instead of waiting for August. That being said, he’s a fantastic outside receiver. He was the lone bright spot on a struggling offense and operated well down the field on 50-50 balls. If Berry can get him the ball more in 2025, the offense should take a step forward.

An under-the-radar All-Conference selection last season, Nana is a player that diehard high school football fans need to get to know. I like Nana’s height at 6’1 because it gives him a chance to fully develop into an all-around receiver at the next level. Right now, Nana has shown he can play in the slot or on the outside as a primary receiver in an offense. Nana has shown electric speed to get behind corners and safeties in coverage. Nana has also shown the vertical ability to win jump balls in single coverage. A lot of people don’t know that Berry in Charlotte has been a school where talent has come from in the past on the regular, and I think Nana is continuing that trend here for the Cardinals.
