The Hawks reached the postseason last year with Spooner playing a prominent role in the success. As a junior, he shined on defense with 32.5 tackles (23 solo, 9.5 TFL) and 2.5 sacks. He chipped in eight catches for 159 yards and a two-point conversion as well. Spooner’s 11th-grade highlight video shows us the versatile student-athlete the statistics suggest. He diagnoses plays quickly, getting a pre-snap read and then adjusting with how the play unfolds.
