is a stout prospect that is a built strong and can battle with those larger and harder to move blockers. A player that can hold his ground, Michael is built with a sturdy base and make it tough for blockers to push him around. You will find him stuffing any run making its way through the middle. With a frame to perform well on offense as well, Michael will most likely see reps on both sides of the ball in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up specializing as an offensive tackle instead.

, Buchanan had a great week at Right Guard for the New Jersey 14U All-Stars
– Built like a D Battery, he was a strong and sturdy option on the interior offensive line
– Originally thought he’d shine as a defensive tackle because of his strong base and build, but the same traits aided him on the offensive side
– One of several members of last year’s 12U All-Star team, Buchanan and the crew ended youth ball with another AYF National Title

is no stranger to the Jersey Shore AYF All-Star program and with his tryout this past weekend, I think his familiarity to the program will continue. The nickname “Moo” could be heard throughout the tryout from coaches, as he dominated on both sides of the ball. The last of several brothers who all made the team when they were in middle school, I liked what Buchanan brought to the table as a defensive tackle. He has a nice stout build and is thick from his lower half through his shoulders. Strong in the lower half, he did a good job of battling and not getting pushed out of the hole. I also specifically liked his swim move; he executed it quickly and succinctly.
