Expert Analysis
Hunter Tierney | Prep Redzone Scout
Anguiano plays like he knows he’s got a strong arm — and he’s not shy about showing it, especially outside the numbers where he can really layer the ball with touch and confidence. The delivery is the fun part: it’s lightning quick, and once he makes up his mind, the ball is already gone, which doesn’t give defenders that extra half‑beat to get to him or close windows. He’s got enough wiggle to extend plays, and at times that chaos turns into a big chunk play that makes you rewind the tape. At the same time, you can see how living in scramble mode can get a little messy if it becomes the default. When he’s able to settle his feet and throw on time, his accuracy and ball placement jump noticeably, and everything looks calmer and more controlled. Another offseason spent tightening up the operation and trusting structure more consistently could really unlock the next level of his game.

Anguiano is a sleeper QB that flashed some really good potential as a sophomore by putting up over 1,800 yards and 7 TD’s, while adding 4 TD’s on the ground. He does a good job throwing with anticipation to be patient for those plays to develop to hit receivers in tight windows. Quick release with the ability to know where he’s going with the ball pre snap as well. You have to respect his legs as well, as he can takeoff and pick up yards when a play breaks down or hit a hole with burst on QB draws.

Michael Anguiano Michael Anguiano 5'9" | 140 lbs | QB Glendale | 2027 AZ has a lot of traits you love to see in a young quarterback. He does an excellent job of throwing the ball over the middle of the field, which is a skill that becomes incredibly valuable at the next level. What really stands out is how calm and comfortable he looks out there, especially for someone his age. His decisions are quick and decisive — there’s no hesitation when he moves off a read that isn’t there. He also works the pocket well, navigating pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. I was really impressed with his play overall, Anguiano consistently played better than the numbers might suggest. He’s certainly laying the groundwork for a bright future.
