put together a dominant breakout junior season, leading Warren County through one of the best runs in program history. At 6’2”, 250+ pounds, Chavis established himself as a force on the interior—combining power, explosiveness, and relentless effort snap after snap. His production speaks for itself, finishing with over 50 tackles for loss and consistently living in opposing backfields.
Chavis has all the traits of a top interior defensive prospect in his class. He plays with violent hands, strong leverage, and a motor that doesn’t stop, making him extremely difficult to contain one-on-one. Heading into his senior year, he’s a name that should be firmly on recruiting boards across the FCS level and beyond, with the potential to rise even higher as his game continues to develop.

delivered one of the most disruptive defensive performances in the state last Friday. The 6’2, 240-pound powerhouse was a nightmare to block, finishing with 2 sacks and an eye-popping 9 quarterback hurries. Chavis consistently won off the edge with his combination of strength, burst, and violent hands, collapsing pockets and forcing hurried throws all night long. His motor never dipped, and every snap he played tilted the line of scrimmage in Warren County’s favor. With size, production, and a relentless play style, Chavis is quickly building the résumé of a true premier defensive prospect in the region.

Chavis has been on our radar for years, a guy who was identified by our Prep Redzone Next staff and who played well as a freshman. As a sophomore, he really broke out, racking up six sacks, but also expanding his game and doing a better job at maintaining his gap and making plays in the running game.

Chavis followed up an impressive, but somewhat one-dimensional, freshman season with an even stronger sophomore year, improving against the run, while maintaining his pass-rushing prowess. He’s likely going to add some more weight to a frame that can hold it, but he’s already a powerful interior defender with the explosive traits to create plenty of havoc, both against the run and the pass.

Chavis has a great first step and length, which he displays immediately on film with an impressive blocked punt. He’s still maturing as a run-stopper and with consistency, but the pass-rushing flashes are there and exciting. He’s probably going to grow a couple of inches and add a bit of weight, which should help him in the running game.

Extremely athletic two-way lineman that was giving the South Carolina Future Stars team fits during practice, before being a pest come game time, too. On the offensive side of the ball he’s a guard that moves like a running back. Phenomenal feet and has no problem pulling or climbing the ladder to get to the second level. Defensively, which is where I like him, he is lightning quick off the ball and can play anywhere along the front. After doing more research on him, the athletic ability I saw flashed over the course of a few days, was obvious this whole past school year as he was MVP of both his football and track teams, in addition to being his middle school’s athlete of the year.
