The 6’4″, 200-pound signal-caller from Heritage Academy-Mesa has become a star through his high school career. Young’s arm strength is matched by his precision, he shows great touch on deep sideline throws while also zipping passes through tight windows over the middle when he needs to. He ent nine of his ten games this season without throwing an interception and finished with 35 touchdowns on the year. It’s not just that Young is accurate — he completed 72% of his passes this year — but he also took chances down the field and connected on them; he finished the year averaging an incredible 26 yards per completion. Committed to Lake Forest College, they’re getting a steal with Young’s talent and leadership.

The stellar 6’4″ 200 lb quarterback doesn’t go to the ground easily, using a mean stiff arm to shrug off would-be sacks. When he breaks free — rather than doing what many small-school quarterbacks often do and taking off — he immediately gets his eyes upfield and resets his feet, looking to hit a receiver down the field. Young possesses good arm strength and, more importantly, knows when to use it. He’s shown great touch throwing down the sideline while also having the ability to zip the ball through tight windows over the middle of the field. He’s currently averaging a touchdown for every four pass attempts he’s had through his first five games while holding a 7:1 TD:INT ratio. With offers rolling in from the offseason and continuing through the season, Young is shaping up to be a steal for whichever program lands him.
