About Matthew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I take pride in being physical when needed but smart with my speed and agility. I’m willing to run through contact, protect the ball, and do the tough work between the tackles, but I also trust my quickness and vision to make defenders miss in space.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I strive to be a competitive and disciplined player who approaches the game with focus and purpose every day. I take pride in working hard both on and off the field, staying coachable, and constantly looking for ways to improve my skills and football IQ. I aim to bring consistent effort and positive energy to my team, whether it’s during practice, workouts, or games. I also try to lead by example

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in FBLA/DECA, Key Club, and have been a 3x semester Honor Roll student

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through athletics and community involvement, I’ve developed leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility. I’ve completed over 20 hours of community service, including working with elementary school students, volunteering at local food pantries, and participating in highway cleanups. Working with younger kids helped me develop patience and the ability to lead by example.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced significant challenges through injuries during my football career, including multiple concussions and a Grade 2 sprain involving my ACL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus. Going through that process tested me physically and mentally. I had to commit fully to rehab, rebuild my strength and stability, and stay patient during recovery. It taught me discipline, and perseverance.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that feels close to home in both distance and community. Being near my family is important to me, but I also want a program that will challenge me academically and help prepare me for my future. I’m especially interested in a school with a strong Sports Medicine or Kinesiology program, as I’m passionate about understanding performance, recovery, and athlete development.

The Rhinelander RB is starting 2026 off with a strong verification of what he brings to the field and what he will be leaning on as he looks to take over in the Rhinelander backfield this fall. Matthew checked in just over 5’9″ 173 lbs, ran a 4.85, jumped 31.8″ in the vertical, blazed a strong 7.12 L-Drill, and jumped a pair of 9’2″ broad jumps. The explosive numbers match the agile runner you see on tape, and the 2028 showed that he has the speed to be able to break off those big plays after creating space with his explosive agility. Keep an eye on the northern WI 2028.
