I liked what I saw from Mason. It was my first time watching Mason in person at a game, and I quite honestly went in with zero expectations.
Offensively, he was utilized a good amount and got consistent touches in different ways. When running routes downfield, Mason was getting consistently open. If Mason ran a streak, post, or really anything downfield, he got separation. He also received the ball on a few screens/slants. Aside from a couple of drops, Mason made the most of his all his targets. It’s also notable that Mason started at Safety, and was involved in a few pass defenses. All in all, I agree with the GLIAC evaluation and I think Mason will have a chance to be great at Saginaw Valley State.

Mason has had his ups and downs over the past several years. Heading into his senior season, he’s still one of the best receivers in Mid-Michigan while being committed to a great GLIAC program, Saginaw Valley State. At SVSU, Mason projects as a great deep threat. Much of the time, Mason explodes out of his stance and is able to use his momentum to speed past defenders on deep posts/streaks/etc. At his best, Mason is utilizing his speed and explosiveness to generate explosive plays. Considering his 6’0″ 175lb size, he also has a ton of potential has a physical route-runner. In college, I think he’ll have to develop for a few years, but once Mason is ready, I expect him to be a much-polished route runner and someone you can rely on deep downfield.

Mason is someone who earned a ton of attention early in his high school career. A year ago, he was receiving a ton of hype, and it looked like he was on his way to becoming a great D1 prospect. Generally, Mason has not lived up to those expectations, but he still finds himself as maybe the #1 receiver in the Lansing area and a phenomenal D2 prospect. His 2023 highlight tape shows the upside. Mason’s route-running is tight and features little wasted movement. That, on top of his above-average speed makes for a lethal deep threat. In addition, he showed a lot of promise in the open field. With improvements with his hands and overall more production in 2024, Mason could find himself with more GLAIC offers.

Everyone applauds Mason for his route running, and I will say it is something of beauty. Ever since I first watched him last summer at a couple 7V7 camps, he has steadily improved all of the other aspects of his game. He adjusts to the ball well, he tracks the ball in difficult situations, and he displays really impressive levels of concentration. Mason leaves SVSU with an offer, and he now holds D1 and D2 offers, with more on the horizon I’m plenty sure!

Mason burst onto the scene about a year ago. A little over a year ago, he earned his first D1 offer from Marshall. Last season, his numbers won’t jump off the page, but his highlights show why he has D1 upside. I love his release off the line of scrimmage. Mason is explosive, quick to full speed, and makes difficult catches look easy. He seems to do the little things correctly, which is a big plus in my eyes. If Mason keeps attending camps then he’ll be able to earn a lot more recruiting attention.

Mason is a guy that really sold me during 7 on 7 season last summer, but I wanted to really see the production be there during the season, and he absolutely lived up to that. In return, he has garnered a lot of recruiting attention, specifically gaining some D1 attention. He runs really good routes, has improved his athleticism a ton, and has sticky hands. Mason is going to be a really good prospect and I think anyone around the MAC level would be pumped to get him in their program.

. The football and track standout was busy this summer and hit the summer camp circuit hard, which included stops at Central Michigan and Western Michigan, but a camp performance in West Virginia at Marshall University is where his hard work came to fruition, as the Thundering Hurd offered a FBS scholarship after camping in Huntington. Now a solidified D1 prospect, Chadwell is set to burst onto the scene as a junior, as he’s limited in sophomore film but has been working his butt off this offseason, and in his summer camp clips he showed a twitchy and quick skillset that aides him greatly as a route runner and when working to create separation. He’s particularly deadly in his releases, and does a good job of stacking DBs once he gets a step on them and keeps them guessing at the top of the route. His popularity has the chance to grow immensely once he gets padded, varsity tape as a junior. Stay tuned on this one, it’s got the makings to be a fun recruitment to follow.

Mason is a very smooth route runner with really good hands, and he showed it once again tonight. Running by defenders, going up to make grabs, and playing solid defense. He’s been putting in work so far this offseason and it’s showing! Mason will be an instrumental part of this Everett team come the fall.
