Another Cornhusker State senior, Omaha Burke’s 6′, 190 lb. athlete Mason Blankenship-Jones Mason Blankenship-Jones 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Omaha Burke | 2023 State NE elevated to P5 status as a recruit when the in-state Nebraska Cornhuskers couldn’t resist the 2023er any longer and offered a B1G PWO four days ago. Coming into the season he held multiple DII and NAIA offers but shot his stock up this senior season as a dynamic athlete on either side of the ball. He opens his film up with an absolutely gigantic and devastating hit going face to chest off the opposition’s QB and folding him inwards and then into the ground for an exciting forced fumble. Jones is very disruptive in the box and around the LOS as a S/OLB hybrid, and I love watching him recognize and adjust in zone coverage as well as stick his cleat in the ground and trigger on the ball like a missile shot out of a submarine. Jones is also impressively shifty with the ball in his hands and is overall a smooth, controlled athlete who I love watching tackle and stiff-arm. Would be another excellent recruiting win for the ‘Huskers if they can land the Burke senior.
