I decided to highlight a few players that aren’t just going to appear on the radar, but SHATTER it. Below are 5 players receiving different levels of attention from colleges, but with potential to rack up a huge offer list before the season is over.
Jaylen Lloyd Jaylen Lloyd 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE (WR) – 2023 – Omaha Westside – 5’10″ 160 lbs
Jaylen has already had a radar-busting season on the track this past spring in which Lloyd took home state gold in the 100m, Long Jump, Triple jump, and a NATIONAL championship in the long jump. Now it’s time for Jaylen to blow up on the gridiron. Lloyd will be joining the dynamic Westside Warriors offense and should take on the WR1 spot. Lloyd’s track speed translates extremely well to the football field as he possesses some of the best straight-line speed in the state. His burst at the line of scrimmage is often enough to get him past corners and into the deep field. During Lloyd’s junior year, he caught 20 passes for 441 yards and 3 touchdowns. What’s most impressive is Jaylen’s average of 22.1 yards per reception and his ability to adjust to the ball in mid-air. He also has tremendous hops that help him outjump taller defenders. Despite the max potential as a two-sport college athlete, he didn’t receive his first football offer until May in the form of a D1 offer from Northern Iowa, which was followed by offers from North Dakota, Minnesota State, and Benedictine. He only recently picked up his first FBS Power 5 offer from Big 12 member Texas Tech for both football and track & field. He heads into the 2022 season as an improved all-around receiver and I think being a part of the Warriors passing attack will bump him up significantly and bring more looks his way. We’re calling it… MAJOR season for Jaylen Lloyd Jaylen Lloyd 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE is loading up.
Brock Roblee Brock Roblee 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB North Platte | 2023 State NE (RB) – 2023 – North Platte – 5’11 180 lbs
One of the more overlooked 1,000 yard rushers from last season was North Platte’s Brock Roblee Brock Roblee 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB North Platte | 2023 State NE . Roblee managed to rush his way to a 1,186 yard season and tacked on 11 touchdowns in a shared backfield with another 1,000+ yard rusher, ’22 LB Vince Genatone. Roblee is a powerful downhill runner that proved to be very hard to tackle. Roblee does not go down on first contact and always finds a way to fall forward for an extra gain. He is a violent runner that always keeps his feet pumping and a stiff arm locked and loaded. Roblee is a throwback fullback that would prefer to run through a defender than to try and go around. I’m guessing Brock will receive the majority of the running calls which could lead to a rise in his monster stats from last season. Brock is still waiting on his first offer but I think he will be prospect that catches fire once the season starts.
Eric Ingwerson Eric Ingwerson 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE (TE) – 2024 – Papillion-La Vista – 6’7″ 230 lbs
The Monarchs have quite the secret weapon waiting in the wings. TE/DE Eric Ingwerson Eric Ingwerson 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE is a player that I think is going to create problems for opposing teams in 2022. At 6’7″ and 230 lbs, he is bound to be a mismatch nightmare especially in the redzone where he can just go up and snag the ball. On top of his height, he has very long arms that extend his catch radius… as if that was possible. He is a great athlete who also starred on the hardwood and uses his basketball skills to help him as a receiver. Ingwerson could also be a breakout player on defense where he looked like a promising edge rusher for Papio. He is quick off the line and uses his length to shed blocks and get into the backfield. Ingwerson is only headed into his junior year and first year receiving a good chunk of varsity minutes, however he is already catching the eyes of several coaches. A recent camp trip to Black Hills State ended in an offer for the youngster. Eric has also visited Power 5 schools like Nebraska and Iowa, with Kansas State keeping close tabs as well. If Eric puts up big numbers as a receiver or defensive end, the offers should start rolling in before the season is over.
Jamison Kemp Jamison Kemp 6'2" | 285 lbs | DL Omaha Central | 2023 State NE (DL) – 2023 – Omaha Central – 6’2″ 290 lbs
One of the biggest risers this summer has been Omaha Central DT, Jamison Kemp Jamison Kemp 6'2" | 285 lbs | DL Omaha Central | 2023 State NE . Kemp is a big, tough, powerful interior defensive lineman that has been blowing up with several great camp performances. Over the off-season he has added size onto his frame but somehow looks even faster and more explosive. Kemp is a powerful bull-rusher with a great understanding of leverage and hand placement. He has explosive hips and a powerful base that allows him to generate a great push at the line of scrimmage. Although Kemp spent most of his time at DT he has the quickness to play defensive end and set the edge against the rush. Jamison has already picked up several offers from schools at levels including Wayne State, Augustana, Minnesota State, Doane, MidAmerica Nazarene, and recent D1 offers from Lindenwood, Southern Illinois, and Southeast Missouri State. Along with those offers, Kemp has also gotten looks from South Dakota, Northern Iowa, and South Dakota State. This is a player that is ready to shatter the radar and lock up several more D1 offers.
Mason Blankenship-Jones Mason Blankenship-Jones 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Omaha Burke | 2023 State NE (ATH) – 2023 – Omaha Burke – 6’0″ 195 lbs
Mason was dealt a short hand during his junior year after a season-ending injury cut his season to only 5 games. However, Mason has come out of that injury stronger and hungrier. He has been tearing it up at camps all over the place, from the Husker’s camp to Marshall and Lindenwood indy camps. He’s bulked up to nearly 200 pounds and has a solid, strong build with a lengthy frame to go with it. Mason is a great overall athlete that can play several positions. He played his majority of offensive snaps at running back. He is a tough runner that is hard to bring down on first contact. Blankenship-Jones had a few plays in his junior tape where he lowered his shoulder and made defenders bounce off of him. He does a great job accelerating through the hole and finishing his runs strong. Defensively, Mason is a jack-of-all-trades with his ability to line up at corner, nickel/dime, strong safety, and outside linebacker. One thing I really like about his game is his ability to play the run. He is quick to diagnose the play, and fast and explosive when he hits his gap. So far, Mason has received offers from Benedictine, Wayne State, Minnesota State, and Nebraska-Kearney. He’s been drawing attention from D1 programs like South Dakota State, St. Thomas, Northern Arizona, Kansas State, Northern Illinois, Marshall, and several others. I definitely believe Mason has the potential to play at a D1 level and could see those offers roll in once he gets back on the field in the fall.
