Whiting made an early catch in the flat for a first down. He kept himself available to his quarterback soon after with another catch in the flat for another first down. Then, he went to work on the ground, with a twelve-yard run and then a short touchdown run. Yet again, Whiting moved the sticks with yet another catch in the flat for a first down. Then, he would convert on fourth and short behind Trenton Campbell and Alex Larkin. He found the endzone again – right up the middle – behind a great Alex Larkin block. On defense, Whiting put good pressure on the quarterback. Then, he read a screen and forced an incompletion. Whiting and Timmy Ball Timmy Ball 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Centennial | 2024 State MN stuffed a run for a loss.

Whiting is as effective with his hand in the ground as a stand-up defensive end. His ability to attack the tackle’s outside shoulder and make moves to the inside. When he engages with a blocker, he does a solid job of hand-fighting and keeping his spacing from the blocker. His feet are a strength. In addition to being able to quickly transition from an outside pass rush to an inside move, his spin move is tough to handle. In addition to rushing the passer (9 sacks in 2022), Whiting – again with his hands – does a solid job playing the run by keeping separation from the blocker and not over-committing to the pass and getting out of position.
