Defensively, the Newark East Side product lined up at the nickel corner/rover position. With 47 tackles, 3 sacks, and an interception returned for a touchdown, Malachi is able to bait QBs to throw his direction, only to make a big play on the ball.

A speedster from the slot position, Malachi caught 228 yards and 2 touchdowns last fall. As a receiver, Malachi can break in and out of cuts with precision, forcing defenders to always trail him. A player that can make acrobatic catches look easy, Newark East Side is my early favorite to win the division.

A 2025 DB for Newark East Side, Malachi is a hybrid athlete on defense and could really play multiple positions in the defensive backfield.

In 2022 he played from a rolled up nickelback position, and played a big role in the pass and run game. A reliable tackler, Malachi is very shifty and is able to evade blockers and get to the ball carrier without having to take on a big block. He will continue to make it a challenge for any offense to try to run it to the outside. In 2023 we may also see Malachi make a bigger impact on offense and special teams, as he really is an all around playmaker.
