Kentucky offered Colerain Class of 2028 athlete Malachi Smith, and I expect more to come for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound high-academic prospect. Smith recorded 50 total tackles, two forced fumbles and three catches for 83 yards last year. Smith is simply a thumper, a hard-hitting safety who possesses elite closing speed and a nose for the ball. I expect his recruiting to blow up this spring, especially after the school’s upcoming college day workout.

But what really stands out about Smith is his abilities against the run, where he has great closing speed and can be a huge thumper and tough, physical hitter.
