Howell’s height is not a typo, and it’s not hard to see why he’s so coveted by college programs this early in the process. His length is a major weapon as he’s able to keep tackles off of his frame. He’s more of a power rusher right now, but he also excels at setting the edge and keeping quarterbacks in the pocket and running backs from bouncing runs. Like a lot of these other guys, he’s an elite talent that we’re excited to track over the next four years.

Howell came into his freshman year with plenty of hype, but we weren’t quite sure what to expect from him out of the gate. He racked up two sacks, multiple run stops, and showed the versatility to line up with his hand in the dirt or as a stand-up edge rusher. His first step is fantastic, and he’s able to beat tackles with speed and bend around the edge, the latter of which is impressive at his height.
