Esmailian has the type of arm talent that pops on film. He’s comfortable both in rhythm and when the play breaks down, especially when flushed to his right. If you’re unfamiliar with Esmailian, it’s probably because he’s new here. The junior transferred into Leesville midseason from Southern California. I’m interested to see what kind of run Leesville Road can make in a loaded 8A bracket.

Esmailian threw for 153 yards per game with 17 touchdowns and zero interceptions for Morse last season and led the Tigers to a CIF championship.

He’s a big guy who looks like he has put on some muscle since last season and has very good zip on the intermediate throws. His release is quick with full extension and he goes through his progressions well. Esmailian is a solid off-platform thrower and had a good showing at the Elite 11 Regional in Oakland. He has offers from Georgia State, Colorado State, Miami of Ohio and Sacramento State.

Esmailian checks into our rankings as one of the top passers in the state for the 2028 class and is a accurate thrower with a quick release and solid mechanics heading into his junior year. He shows he can navigate the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield, evading pressure and delivers on schedule throws and can buy time with his legs and throw across his body with accuracy and good zip on the ball. His ability to process quickly and move defenders with his eyes is impressive, especially for his age and he is another top returning passer across the region heading into 2026.

Esmailian possesses a well-rounded skillset that combines his size, athleticism, arm talent, and leadership skills. 6’2” 200 lbs. he’s a high IQ QB that is trained in terms of his technical ability and throwing mechanics. His footwork is clean while staying in balance/rhythm throughout his drop back and progression. Confident passer that isn’t afraid to take chances downfield or in tight windows but protects the football and is a sound decision maker, highlighted by zero interceptions on 184 attempts during the 2025 season. Flashes high level accuracy and ball placement with the arm talent/strength to drive throws to the boundary, layer the ball over the middle, or drop it in vertically. Doesn’t panic under pressure, maintains his mechanics standing in the pocket and shows the toughness to deliver with defenders in his face. Great command and control of the offense and position. Two offers from Sacramento State and recently Colorado State.
