He doesn’t blindly attack off the snap. Instead, he keeps his eyes in the backfield and has demonstrated an ability to shed off his block and onto the ball carrier coming through his gap. Anderson’s presence in the trenches resulted in a pair of fumbles and subsequent recoveries during the 2025 season. He also plays offensive line, where he’s an agile and athletic guard who can successfully pull and execute combo and reach blocks effectively.

Standing 5’10” and weighing 208 pounds, he plays as an offensive guard and defensive end for the Cougars. While Anderson has limited film, it does not take many clips to see his lower body strengths and ability to cause distribution in the backfield. Maddox, is an athlete I will be keeping tabs on.

He lines up at defensive end where he is very reliable against the run. Anderson has a great nose for the football and plays with a high motor, using his speed to get to the ball carrier quickly to make the tackle. He finished this past season with 49 tackles and two tackles for loss. Anderson also finished his junior year with one sack. Maddox doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.
