He opened the 2024 season in dominant fashion, hauling in 4 interceptions against Schurz. From his safety position, Melendez expertly patrolled the secondary, consistently jumping routes and disrupting the passing game. A standout athlete for Ridgewood, he’s primed for a massive senior season.

Melendez does it all for Ridgewood. On top of being a stand out wide receiver this year he is also starting at corner on defense. He is moved around within the offense, often using speed to run by defenders. He has been a big part of their offense so far scoring 6 touchdowns. With about half the season left I believe Ridgewood will keep finding ways to get Melendez ball.
