Tackett brings a solid presence to the Kentucky Future Stars defensive line, checking in at 5’11” and 240 pounds with the size and strength to be a difference-maker along the line. Having followed his development throughout this season, it’s clear that Lucas continues to improve at a rapid pace, refining his game and becoming a more complete player each time he takes the field. He has steadily built a reputation as one of the rising young linemen in his class, and his physical style of play should make him a valuable addition to this offensive front. Expect Tackett to not make it easy for Tennessee’s defense.

2030 West Carter (KY) OL Lucas Tackett Lucas Tackett 5'10" | 243 lbs | OL/DL West Carter | 2030 KY may not have the same length as some of the other top linemen in attendance, but he more than made up for it with how well he moves and his power. He’s put together nicely for his age, and it showed early during combine work, where he moved with fluidity and control. That carried over into position drills and 1-on-1s, where he consistently stayed square and mirrored with his man. Tackett plays with natural leverage and bend, which allows him to win positioning and hold it. His hands were strong and well-placed, and once he latched on, he controlled reps with his grip strength. He also showed the ability to anchor when challenged and kept his feet active throughout. Tackett delivered a really solid, well-rounded performance as a naturally athletic, strong young lineman.

Tackett showed why he was named the KYMSFA Region 3 Player of the Year in this game against Kentucky. Very strong at the point of attack. Looked like a natural sitting in pass pro.

There have only been two Offensive Linemen to win a Heisman Trophy, with the most recent happening in 1949, and there has never been an Offensive Lineman to win NFL MVP. However, don’t tell those facts to Lucas Tackett Lucas Tackett 5'10" | 243 lbs | OL/DL West Carter | 2030 KY , KYMSFA 7th Grade Region 3 Player of the Year. One inch taller and 15 pounds heavier than a year ago, he’s an impressive kid. He can play both sides of the ball well, finishing defensively with 7.5 sacks, 33 tackles and 13 TFL this season. However, I see him as one of the Staring Guards on this 7th Grade Kentucky Future Stars team. His play helped pave the way for 2,000+ rushing yards at West Carter this past season, something the Future Stars RBs should be very excited about.
