Stats: 22 Carries, 82 Yards, 2 TDs, 1 Reception, 9 Yards, 9 Tackles
Lucas stepped into the FB role for Rice Lake this season, and delivered nonstop. He has become a strong runner with vision and lateral agility. When those three come together Peters is a serious problem to contain between the tackles as he punishes tacklers. Lucas also has the speed to break off the big play after he wears them down. On defense the LB has developed strong instincts from all his experience and does a great job of staying off blocks while coming downhill to make tackles. I’m excited to see what he does at St. Thomas in the coming years!

is another State Champion RB returning in 2024. Last year he put up 13 TDs while being apart of a dominant trio of runners. One of those members of the trio has graduated. While I don’t see Lucas taking over FB where Easton Stone graduated from, but we could see Peters get more touches at his wing position. Last year he put up over 1,000 yards with those 13 TDs while having less than 200 carries. If he breaks that 200 carry threshold we could see a big statistical season for him. He is a dark horse pick, but I won’t be surprised to see him at the top of the list.

We wrap up with a do it all type of athlete. Along with his work at RB, Lucas also plays LB and LS for Rice Lake. The 1,000 yard back put together a great season with 13 rushing TDs and equally as important, 0 fumbles. The 5’10” 190 lbs back was a key to Rice Lake winning a State Championship run. Lucas plays the FB role in their triple option attack and I love the traits it lets him show. He gets to attack downhill where he can run behind his pads and easily break through outstretched arms. We also get to see the burst he has, quickly getting to top speed and shooting through his gap. Peters also shows agile and very quick feet that give him the chance to make quick lateral cuts to avoid LBs and then get back to attacking upfield. Once in the open field he gets to open up and show he can run away from defenders. Lucas is a talented back who will continue his climb up these rankings and put together a great senior season if I had to make a prediction. Don’t overlook the Northern WI standout.
