If you read our Bemidji State All-Camp Defensive Team feature from yesterday, you already are aware that Sioux Valley, located in Volga, South Dakota, right outside Brookings, showed up and showed out at the BSU small school team camp. With a good mix of size and toughness in the trenches and playmakers in their skills spots, the Corsairs manufactured one of the best showings during War on the Shore while executing some electric offensive and defensive stands and conversions.

Leading from the front of the pack is RB/LB Logan Mohn Logan Mohn 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB/ATH Sioux Valley | 2027 State SD , a 6’1, 200 lb. bruiser and college-ready linebacker prospect who did some of his best work with ball in-hand as a tailback last week in Bemidji. A powerfully-built slasher who could finish runs with physicality but also break tackles with a combination of footwork + contact balance. He showed off good vision after he opened the small school War on the Shore competition with a TD run against Pine River-Backus where he bounced it to the sideline and accelerated into the endzone for an easy six. Laterally agile and explosive, Mohn also had a crazy TD run and rep against Belle Plaine where he ran into a stuffed gap between the tackles, kept those legs pumping through a couple weaker tackle attempts, then stuck his cleat in the ground and bounced it outside the dogpile for a sneaky leak out of a TD carry. One of the – if not thee single best – individual efforts of the vaunted War on the Shore competition. Looks like Dordt is Mohn’s lone offer right now!

From what I recall this is the second or third camp this summer that Logan has found the heart of my notebook for the skillsets he showed off at a prospect camp which at the USF Prospect Camp, he showed off even more how well-rounded those skillsets of his are. He not only continued to show off how agile and tight he can be during the agility drills at the Coo, but he showed what a downhill runner should look like at the next-level from those reps I watched on Friday night at Bob Young Field. I don’t know how many times I need to pound the table for this kid to get on more D2 recruiting boards, but he’s shown as one of my top tier athletes yet again at a couple of NSIC camps now this summer.

Logan has been another East River 2027 that has peaked above our rankings expectations, but yet only has one offer thus far this summer which surprises the heck out of me. The 6’1 200 pounder has been well-rounded with his testing numbers flashing a 9’7 broad jump, 4.71 40-yard dash, and a 6.93 in the L-drill at 6’1 200 pounds. The live evals I have gotten out of Logan have been impressive too, as he finished in our top-tier at the Augustana Prospect Camp amongst the running back group from a grade perspective. Would love to see more D2 attention come in for Logan this summer.

A South Dakota 2027 running back that has made significant waves this recruiting season and did so at the Augustana Prospect Camp was Sioux Valley’s Logan Mohn Logan Mohn 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB/ATH Sioux Valley | 2027 State SD . I had Logan as one of my Camp Jumpers previewing camp season and he showed off why at Augustana as one of the most well-rounded running backs in testing with a 9’4 broad jump, 31′ vertical, 6.93 L-drill and 4.18 in the pro agility. Logan showed off excellent footwork that displayed the change of direction he has at his disposal as one of the most elusive running backs in attendance. He was another one that had some promising pass-blocking reps, as the amount of physical hands and finish that Logan showed tell you even more why he’s trended already as one that will jump his stock this camp season. He also shows off the Grade A character college coaches should want in the running back room.

Logan is another one that I already know will be a rankings riser out this group and summer camps haven’t even hit full throttle yet. He has a 36.5 inch standing vertical and jumped a 9’6 broad jump at the Riggs Combine which should tell you right away the athleticism and explosiveness this young man has to show off at camps this summer. At the running back position, Logans mixes the elusive change of direction he has between the tackles with noted durability getting out of the inside box to the edges. The next-level fit for Logan in my eyes, sits on the defensive side of the ball at safety, as he shows off great range that can stretch sideline to sideline and even though he’s a LB in his high school defense, the ball-tracking ability in pass coverage catches the eyes quickly. Will be intrigued to see positionally where Logan gets offers from this summer for sure.

The 6’1 200 pounder has a frame that brings the ruggedness you want in your backfield especially when running thru contact. He is also also one of the more sound route-runners at the running back positions in this class. He’s a defined contact-seeker between the tackles that has a sudden burst that doesn’t take long to see on tape. I feel he’s a definite stockriser by next update out of Sioux Valley. TWITTER
