Rise: #47 to #34

Another athlete to see a solid rise was Waupun WR Liam Hopp. The multi-sport athlete is coming off an offseason of growth. He is at least an inch taller and 10+ lbs heavier, and his coaches have noticed that growth as well. That growth was just a piece to the reason Liam rose up our boards.

That added size is going to bolster his ability to become the WR1 that Waupun will be looking for this fall. Liam is a smooth athlete, especially in his route running. He was able to effectively attack every level of the field as a freshman in his limited varsity action. He flashed strong hands and some wiggle after the catch. Now bigger, I will be looking for him to truly establish himself on the outside on Friday nights. Keep an eye on the football/baseball standout.

Waupun’s high flying passing offense is going to be looking for a new WR1 with the graduation of nearly 80 receptions from senior WRs. Lucky for Waupun it looks like their next man up is ready for the job. Freshman Liam Hopp Liam Hopp 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Waupun | 2029 State WI stands out as a likely option. He was already able to put up 9 receptions, 173 yards, and 2 TDs in 2025.

Liam is an intriguing talent too. He brings a solid frame to build on over the years. The ’29 is already smooth downfield getting in and out of breaks. Plus he naturally catches the ball with his hands. With that early experience and an offseason under his belt we are setting up for a sophomore year breakout season.

Liam was able to get a little run on varsity, finishing with 9 receptions, 173 yards, and 2 TDs. Things are looking much more open to him this fall, though. Every WR with more production than him in 2025 graduates. So that leaves the door open to Liam becoming WR1 for the Waupun offense this fall. Watching his varsity highlights from 2025, Liam dominated attacking across the short and intermediate levels of the middle of the field. He was able to find soft spots or lose DBs in traffic. The 6’1″ 155 lbs WR also did what he could to make an impact with his downfield blocking too. Talented and selfless can get you a long way. Liam has even more than that to work with.
