Nelson is a mauler with brute strength and power at the POA. 6’5” 290 lbs. he’s a violent finisher that drives through contact to move defenders and be a dominate force on the LOS. A plus athlete at his size that shows good initial quickness and footwork. He can move in the short area to mirror movement in pass protection or get to the spot to engage without disrupting the timing of the play. Once engaged, he generates push by accelerating his feet at contact and controls defenders with good hand usage/placement. In pass protection, he’s quick into his set and does a good job keeping a clean pocket by maintaining leverage and moving his feet. Knows how to use his length to his advantage and carries a strong anchor to absorb an oncoming rush without giving up ground. Committed to Idaho.
