Leland “Duke” Johnson is a talented LB/EDGE prospect out of Pinson Valley who put together a really impressive sophomore year last fall.
Right off the bat, I’m really impressed with Johnson’s football IQ- he makes a ton of different checks pre-snap to let his teammates know exactly where the offense is headed. Johnson is a force against the run, he’s quick to get through the line of scrimmage and create stops in the backfield, never letting them into open space.
Johnson brings the same impact to his team’s pass defense- consistently making big stops out in coverage by breaking up passes or flying across the field to make tackles.
