emerged as a breakout star for Nathan Hale last season. We didn’t know that much about Wells at this time last year but that certainly changed with a sophomore season where he emerged as one of the top ball hawks in the state, regardless of class. Because of that, he earned a spot on our All State Honorable Mention list. Wells was always in the right place at the right time. We’re looking forward to seeing how he elevates his game this season. And the Rangers are also going to turn to him to play some wide receiver this season.

was on our radar going into his sophomore season but we definitely didn’t anticipate him having the type of year that ended up happening. Wells was one of the best ball hawks in the state and he’s looking for even more during his junior season. And looking more at the Nathan Hale roster, there are quite a few 2028 prospects that people should turn their attention to this season. There’s no doubt that Wells was one of the breakout stars for the Rangers during his sophomore season. But what does he do for an encore? How can he continue to elevate his game this offseason to make more of an impact during his junior season? Wells is a 2028 prospect on the rise.

wraps up this breakdown and is another DB to keep an eye on moving forward. As a sophomore, Wells emerged as one of the top ball hawks in the 2028 class. We didn’t know much about him prior to the season but we certainly do now after he finished 2025 with six interceptions on the year. Looking at his film, Wells looks just as comfortable playing inside corner or on the outside. He also packs a punch and we saw several instances where he brought that hard-hitting to an opponent that had a decent size advantage on Wells. There are some good instincts with his game and when you combine that with his quick feet and ability to jump routes, that put him in position to make play after play on defense.
