had a tremendous senior season for the Raiders on both sides of the ball. Watson rushed for 2,200 yards and 32 touchdowns while adding 114 tackles and 20 TFLs on defense while lifting his team to a Class AA State Championship appearance. He has the ideal combination of size and athleticism to play linebacker at the D1 level where he’s gotten some looks this year. Watson finishes in our 2025 rankings as a Top 20 prospect and the #3 LB in the class with one of the highest upsides among seniors for the next level. Watson is quiet on social media last posting an offer from D1 VMI in July, but we expect there’s been more interest from that level behind the scenes.

has been impressive for Roane County again this season on both sides of the ball, and we’re getting a look at him on film at linebacker this season which we were excited to see.
Watson is currently one of the top rushers in the state averaging over 200 yards per game and 11 touchdowns in 4 games but is a very good linebacker prospect who has a D1 offer from VMI. He has great size and athleticism for the position which makes him one of the better prospects in the state for the position and whose ranking will reflect that after the season. Watson gets downhill at a high level and is capable of delivering a big blow on ball carriers as one of the more physical athletes in this class.

who has stacked two very good weeks in a row for the Beavers. Watson went over 150 rushing yards again this week, nearly eclipsed 200 yards, and scored 3 touchdowns on just 12 carries in the 42-12 win over Lincoln County. With his combination of size and athleticism, it’s going to be very tough for a Class AA foe to slow Watson down this season as a rare D1 prospect in the class.

leading the way for the Beavers. Watson picked up his first D1 offer from VMI back in July and looked the part of an athlete capable of playing at that level on Friday night. He’s just a phenomenal athlete for his 6’3 205 size that you don’t often see lining up at running back and returning kicks. The great news is we’re now seeing film of him at linebacker this season which we weren’t able to see in 2023 and a rankings boost will follow after the season. Watson finished the game with 16 carries for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns while totaling 9 tackles on defense.

but it’s a very safe flyer. The 6’2 210 FB/LB had very limited linebacker film but led the Beavers in tackles with 86 including 7 for a loss and also led the team in interceptions with 4. Watson also was the second-leading rusher with 619 yards and 11 touchdowns and led the team in receiving yards with just under 500 yards and 6 more scores. He was the leader in all-purpose yards with 1,720 and is a very good returner on special teams. Given how big he is, it’s very impressive the amount of production he had at the skill positions and speaks to the level of athlete he is. If Watson posts more linebacker film from his upcoming senior season I would expect him to really jump up in our rankings.
