Landen has great pocket presence and awareness. He is a thick, sturdy build and tall enough to pass from the pocket. I most like his ability to throw on the move when the pocket breaks down. He does a great job of resetting his feet, but also throwing off different platforms with accuracy. He never flinches or panics, just continues to allow the play develop and hit the open WR. The improvisation makes him difficult to defend and prepare for. Assuming he has protection and good WRs, I think he can really break out at Salem this year, where he will be a first year starter. He may not have a canon for an arm, but he throws with good touch and his ability to buy time allows receivers to get separation. He’s got a little bit of Johnny Football in his game. Fun film to watch, look for big stats, and more wins this year.

Pocket QB with solid height and size. Solid athletic ability with good balance, solid flexibility, hip fluidity, lateral movement, foot quickness, explosiveness, and foot speed. Very good at reading defenses and making the right decision on where to throw the ball, taking advantage of what the defense gives him, and not forcing balls into bad situations. Good poise in the pocket, not phased by pressure, with solid pocket mobility to step up or roll out to extend the play. Good arm strength, able to throw out routes from the hash to the opposite sideline. Very good accuracy on all levels of the field, placing the ball away from defenders. Tends to stay flat-footed in the pocket forcing him to exert extra energy into his throws. Has the athleticism to pick up the available yards with his feet when extending plays. Not going to be a major running threat beyond the line of scrimmage. Would like to see better timing on change of direction routes to get the ball to his receivers quicker out of their cuts. Room to develop more Zip on the ball to thread it into tight windows with less air under the ball. Overall, a good prospect whose upside we are high on due to his ability to throw any pass on the field with good accuracy, his decision-making and processing that puts his team in the best position, and his ability to move in the pocket.
