Expert Analysis
Shayne Pickering | Prep Redzone Scout
La’Miere Porter is one of the top receivers in the state of Tennessee for a very strong 2029 class at the position with an exciting skillset that he can keep developing upon as he gets older.
He already has adequate college size at six-foot and 175 pounds and boasts the athleticism to be a matchup nightmare on the perimeter for high school defensive backs.
He is a smooth mover with fluid hips, traits that will give him strong route running potential as he continues to refine his craft.
He will be in a new offense as a sophomore at Oak Ridge and a breakout sophomore year in terms of production could get the momentum started quickly in his recruitment.

- Ranked the No.1 ATH (athlete) and No.4 overall prospect in the initial Tennessee class of 2029 rankings
- Should come in and find the field early at Powell High School
- Comes from a 9-1 Robertsville Middle School team that won the TVAC Championship
Has everything needed to stay one of the best overall ATH’s in the entire state of Tennessee in the 2029 class on both sides of the ball. Did a bit of everything at Robertsville last year, ultimately being named Back of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year for the Rams. Lined up primarily at QB offensively and finished with 638 rushing yards and 10 TDs, along with 298 passing yards and five TDs. Moving forward, look for him to get time at Wide Receiver, Safety, Linebacker and with his familiarity behind Center–don’t rule out some creative play calling for him in the backfield.

were doing Defensive Back drills, while the line and backs were doing inside run drills and the WR’s were working on releases. Looking back through my notes, I immediately jotted down that he was big and had a great build for a Defensive Back at this level…and that’s probably because he turned out to be an Outside Linebacker once the team came together. He played with physicality and put his size and strength on display through a bunch of drills. During the regular season he earned All-Conference honors while playing Wide Receiver, Quarterback, Defensive Back and Linebacker–which is why he gets the ATH designation. However, after what I observed, I think the future is bright as an Outside Linebacker.
