Shabazz is one of the top athletes in Northern California and led all 2027 receivers in the state with 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns helping Grant to a state championship. At 5’9” 155 lbs. he’s an explosive athlete with great twitch and all-around game speed. He’s a homerun threat every time he touches the ball. Can stretch the field and run by coverage in the vertical passing game or turn short receptions into massive gains with speed and elusiveness in the open field. Flashes great body control and coordination to track/adjust to ball flight with the ability to bring in tough contested receptions in traffic. Versatile skillset allows him to flip field position in the return game or be strong in coverage at DB. Two offers to date but would expect his recruitment on the rise going forward.

Shabazz is making a case to be the top offensive ’27 weapon Northern California has to offer as we close out the 2023 season. He is a twitchy and elite athlete with tremendous downfield speed, good tracking abilities and is a excellent route runner both underneath and downfield with return abilities as well. In the SJS title game, he showed up putting together a stellar performance of 120+ receiving yards and was chunking return yards when given the chance against a top tier opponent in Rocklin.

Shabazz is one of the more explosive playmakers regardless of class across the Northern California region, and has been making plays for one of the top teams in Norcal since his freshman campaign. He is a dynamic athlete with the ball that can make defenders miss in space, track the ball well downfield and can create third level seperation with ease while showing strong hands in traffic and is seemingly comfortable against both man and zone coverage. The explosive Sophomore recently picked up his first offer from Colorado State, and is in line for a huge off-season this winter and Spring and should see other offers roll in as well.
